Helping hands are always welcome to support people in their day-today lives.

Hamburg, May/June 2018

Two events will be hosted by the Karin und Walter Blüchert Gedächtnisstiftung in Hamburg in early summer. The DOCK2018 – Ein Tag ohne Sorgen (A Day Without Worries) is an event in Hamburg that extends an invitation to people in vulnerable situations in life. Any support by voluntary helpers for the DOCK2018 is very welcome. Nich’ lang schnacken. Anpacken! brings charitable organisations together and creates a basis for networking with each other. Non-profit associations can introduce themselves and their projects.

The DOCK2018 takes place on 20 May 2018 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m in the Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity (Großer Grasbrook 19, 20457 Hamburg). The event extends an invitation to vulnerable people in need to spend Sunday together, to choose from donations in kind and clothing for their personal dayto- day needs and to meet up in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Cruise Center has various stations spread across the grounds, inviting visitors to gather together and focusing on specific areas of day-to-day life, such as a StreetStore handing out clothes, a sanitary area with showers and a hairdresser, medical contacts for people and pets, a buffet, a food bar and a play area for children with a bouncy castle.

The DOCK2018 is supported by many associations and organisations beyond Hamburg’s borders. who provide donations or spread the message to the people. The event is given strong support by volunteers who sign up every day and give their commitment to the event. Despite the great popularity, the Karin und Walter Blüchert Gedächtnisstiftung is happy to have more helping hands to make the DOCK2018 an unforgettable day for the visitors. Associations are also welcome to support the DOCK2018. Contact via and the Facebook page of the event.

DOCK2018 focuses on people and families who need a helping hand in their day-to-day life. The moment of togetherness is closely intertwined with social or individual support. This is why cooperation is also important where social support is created: in the charitable world of work. With Nich’ lang schnacken. Anpacken! an event will take place in Hamburg on 02/06/2018, inviting 25 representatives from associations and aid organisations and one accompanying person from the working environment and creating constructive cooperation with them. The Karin und Walter Blüchert Gedächtnisstiftung is organising an innovative event concept for the meeting.

The participants sail in a relaxed atmosphere through the area surrounding Hamburg on the tall ship ’Atlantis’ and enter into open dialogues with one other. Over the course of the day, contacts who have similar charitable work and goals find one other. The aim of the meeting is for acquaintances to grow from the conversations, and cooperations to grow from these acquaintances. These can then be sealed with a Hanseatic handshake, if required. The encounters at Nich’ lang schnacken. Anpacken! serve as a networking event within the charitable landscape in order to strengthen the common creative power in the social field. Beyond the scope of the sailing trip, this platform can also serve to further strengthen the cooperation between the associations and foundations.

Representatives of associations are cordially invited to get in touch with the Karin und Walter Blüchert Gedächtnisstiftung for participation at to present their own projects and find cooperation partners.
