Hamburg, May/June 2018
The Karin und Walter Blüchert Gedächtnisstiftung provides immediate, direct aid to individuals. Support is also given to institutions that provide direct aid. By organising two events this summer, the Foundation continues to implement its goals of providing direct aid to people in need and promoting charitable cooperation across the board.
The Foundation would like to give immediate assistance on the ground using a contemporary event concept. On 20 May 2018, the DOCK2018 – Ein Tag ohne Sorgen (A Day Without Worries) will be held for the first time for this purpose at the Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity. The day event is aimed at people whose day-to-day lives are extremely stressful. Anyone can quickly get into this situation. It is the task of our community to come together and strengthen the people in our midst. These can be people who do not have a roof over their heads, who need help with their own or family care and people
who lack social contact.
The DOCK2018 can show a way to accomplish this important task. The site has numerous stations inviting people to feel at ease – tailored to the individual needs of the guests, large or small, young or old. Four-legged friends are also well catered for, e.g. with veterinary care and food.
The Karin and Walter Blüchert Gedächtnisstiftung organisers are very much looking forward to the event and hope that DOCK2018 will also bring about sustainable mindfulness in dealing with socially disadvantaged members of our society.
With Nich’ lang schnacken. Anpacken! (Don’t just talk. Start Working!) two weeks later on 2 June 2018, an event will be organised focusing on overarching social work for people and communities. Representatives of associations and foundations with a focus on social activities will be invited to this event. The aim of the meeting is to create a network between them, which should stimulate future cooperation.
To do this, the participants meet for a day and take part in an in-depth, productive dialogue. On the water, in fact. The event will take place on the Tall Ship Atlantis, which was one of the last light ships in Germany to be converted into a sailing vessel. Volunteers and helpers come together in a relaxed atmosphere as they sail through the area surrounding Hamburg. Between mast and galley, starboard and port, the projects and goals of the associations are to be networked with the resources and reach of the foundations. The programme will be coordinated by a presenter. Nich’ lang schnacken. Anpacken! initiates a larger network of Hamburg’s charitable landscape to sustainably strengthen social organisation and commitment.
With DOCK2018 and Nich’ lang schnacken. Anpacken! Hamburg now has two events coming up in early summer. The head behind the concepts – the Karin and Walter Blüchert Gedächtnisstiftung – goes one step further with the event organisation, focussing on actively shaping our social environment. Because everyone matters.
