For the second time, the Karin and Walter Bl\u00fcchert Memorial Foundation organized "DOCK \u2013 A Day Without Worries" for people in need and the homeless. Over 2,800 guests attended the event, held under the patronage of Hamburg's Second Mayor, Katharina Fegebank, to take advantage of the various activities offered. The event was supported by nearly 200 volunteers as well as numerous associations, institutions, and companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout the day, services such as clothing distribution, hygiene and sanitary facilities, medical care from various specialist areas, a laundry center, organic food, counselling services, an entertainment program and veterinary care were provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Particular interest was shown in the offerings of hairdressers, beauticians, opticians, and masseurs, because DOCK 2019 was not only about providing basic services to people, but also about appreciation and things that have become a luxury for many people due to their situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patron Fegebank held numerous discussions on the grounds and helped with the distribution and advice in the clothing tent; Cansu \u00d6zdemir, parliamentary group leader of the Left Party, helped with the distribution of hygiene products; Anjes Tjarks, parliamentary group leader of Alliance 90\/The Greens, Dr. Melanie Leonard, Senator for Labor and Social Affairs, and SPD parliamentary group leader Kienscherf engaged in discussions with people while baking waffles and distributing cakes, as did the CDU state chairman Roland Heintze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
