For many years, she has researched and taught on issues surrounding gender-based violence. In 2016, she received her doctorate from the University of G\u00f6ttingen with a dissertation entitled &quot;Biographical Trajectories of Formerly Organized Right-Wing Extremists: A Biographical-Analytical and Gender-Reflective Study.&quot; As a recognized researcher on right-wing extremism, Johanna Sigl publishes on the topics of right-wing extremism and gender, as well as on the challenges and approaches to addressing right-wing extremism within social work.
