Her professional focus is on queerphobic hate crime, which she examines from a criminological perspective. She is particularly committed to raising police awareness of the lived realities of queer people and creating structures in which diversity is naturally considered and those affected are taken seriously. Her goal is to help shape a police force that recognizes discrimination, consistently confronts queerphobic violence, and treats all people with openness and respect.
