Magdalena Blüchert is the Managing Director of the Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation in Hamburg, which she has led since its founding in 2016. She continues the work of her grandfather, the publisher Walter Blüchert. The foundation's work focuses on providing direct aid to people in need, supporting projects such as DOCK, Erfahrungsträger (Experience Bearers), Gewalt im Alltag (Everyday Violence), and Anpacken (Taking Action), and is particularly committed to inclusion, equality, and protection from everyday violence.

Since the beginning of 2023, Magdalena Blüchert has also headed the Social Affairs Working Group in the Federal Association of German Foundations and regularly appears in the media and on the podcast „Mach' Mal Lauter‘ on social issues.
