About the project

The origin
In 2018 we launched the event series “No more talk. Let's get to work!‘.
The title of the first event was already a mission statement: Representatives from foundations and aid organizations met for a day to engage in intensive, productive dialogue. And they did so on the water: On the deck of one of Europe's largest sailing ships – the "Atlantis" – aid workers and those providing aid gathered in a relaxed atmosphere as they sailed through the Hamburg waters. Between mast and galley, starboard and port, the projects and goals of the organizations were connected with the resources and reach of the foundations. A moderator coordinated the program.
With its focus and objectives, ANPACKEN took the comprehensive networking of the charitable sector in a new and innovative direction. Following the event, we realized that bringing institutions and associations together offers far more potential than simple networking.
We then decided to launch the event series and to hold various events in the future, each focusing on a specific topic.

The event series
To implement a social project effectively, associations draw on contributions from other institutions at certain points, such as a foundation or an alliance with other associations. This creates ongoing points of contact between initiators and supporters, and the more consciously these are utilized, the more effectively project goals are achieved. "No more talk. Let's get to work!" brings together people who form these practical points of contact and gives them the opportunity to network in order to create a foundation for the future. A future in which no project, no initiative gets lost in the shuffle, but is instead carried to its goal together.

Creating new opportunities together
Charitable organizations and foundations pursue the same goal in their work: to support individuals and our society as a whole. They implement aid projects, raise public awareness of problems, and create points of contact for people in need. This work for the community requires its own internal community, a form of team building. ANPACKEN (Taking Action) forms teams by bringing together representatives from different institutions, enabling them to network and collectively generate new creative energy.

Collective creative power
The Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation aims to bring people together.
With this conviction, another cornerstone of the Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation is growing alongside direct aid: connecting and supporting helpers and those who help. Both associations and foundations provide assistance – each in its own way and with its own focus. But they also fulfill complementary tasks and pursue paths that intersect: Direct cooperation between institutions is effective at these points.
Participants can use the events of "No more talk. Let's get to work!" as a forum to find collaborations or make contacts for future cooperation. A gathering for a familiar purpose, but in a new, organized format for the first time: "No more talk. Let's get to work!"„
Formats
Three different formats were developed for the event series "Stop talking. Get to work!". Since different approaches are needed to achieve the various goals of the event series, the three formats represent different event sizes.
In addition to improved networking and collaboration among institutions, the larger formats also focus on public engagement with specific topics. The aim is always to develop and utilize potential in order to offer the best possible support to people in need and in exceptional situations.

GET STARTED I
The ANPACKEN I events, part of the event series „Don't talk for long. TACKLE IT!‘, include networking meetings and workshops.
Networking and getting to know one another are usually encouraged for half a day. The entire event is aimed at fostering cooperation and collaboration among the organizations.

TACKLE V
ANPACKEN V combines networking events with workshops and presentations on industry-specific topics. The first part of the day is designed to help guests get to know each other and explore potential collaborations and projects. The second part focuses on delivering educational content related to the chosen theme, providing effective support for guests and participants in their daily work.

TACKLE X
In the event series „No more talk. Let’s get to work!‘ the ANPACKEN X events represent the large, mostly public events.
These events usually last one to two full days.
For selected, essential topics, solutions and approaches to problems are developed in collaboration with experts, institutions, and renowned speakers and panelists. Furthermore, communication among the relevant institutions is to be improved.
Topics

homelessness
Over the past ten years, the number of people living on the streets of Hamburg has almost doubled. In addition to established organizations, many volunteers are active in helping the homeless. In 2020, we continue to offer organizations, associations, and projects a platform where they can exchange information and network. This allows for the coordination of initiatives and the creation of synergies.

Violence in everyday life
One in four women has experienced physical or sexual violence in a partnership at least once in her life. Thousands of children are victims of domestic violence every year. Men, too, are psychologically or physically attacked by their partners. With the forum on the topic of "Violence in Everyday Life" in autumn 2020, we aim to raise awareness among a broad audience, provide comprehensive information on all facets of domestic violence, and highlight the support services available to those affected.

Experienced person
In 2013, 211,030 people in Germany were over 65 years old. By 2060, this number will have risen to 33,100. Our society is aging rapidly and changing at an alarming rate. How can we ensure that older people remain active and integrated in our society? Our events on the topic of "Aging" in 2020 will clarify the challenges, present successful practical examples, and provide a forum for stakeholders to network.

The foundation
The Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation was established in Hamburg in 2016. During his lifetime, the publisher Walter Blüchert stipulated that his legacy should benefit people in need of assistance. Together with his wife Karin Blüchert, he exemplified this value system and worldview of support and helping others.
The foundation's work is characterized by the continuation of these values. It offers immediate, direct help and support to individuals, but also supports institutions that in turn provide direct aid.
The foundation also implements its own projects to initiate sustainable aid. Homelessness, loneliness in old age, everyday violence, and chronic physical and mental illnesses are key areas of focus for the foundation.
