Deepfakes are images, videos, or audio recordings created or altered using artificial intelligence that appear real, even though they have been manipulated. For example, pornographic content is widespread in which AI superimposes the face of a real person, making it appear as if it were a real video featuring that person. Deepfakes can be used to expose people, spread misinformation, or perpetrate digital violence.
