The Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation supports efforts on behalf of those affected by difficult and stressful life situations. When inpatient treatment begins, but further or continuous care is necessary, the child and their family can only rely on health insurance coverage for a short period. Coping with illness places a heavy burden on the children and their families, potentially requiring a complete reorientation of their daily lives. If health insurance only covers the family's care and counseling needs and associated costs for a short time, those affected face additional challenges.
This is where the Children's Navigator comes in – to protect and support families and children. Taking a holistic approach to the individual needs that come with a family situation involving a sick child, the Children's Navigator offers support. Intensive care and access to counseling services for a period of one year enable many affected families to cope with the illness in the first place.
