V.The non-profit organization was founded in Hamburg in 2009 to support children and young people in processing and coping with a tragic event. The Hamburg Center for Children and Young People in Mourning (Hamburger Zentrum für Kinder und Jugendliche in Trauer e. V.) was established to enable adolescents to address the emotional challenges of loss or anxiety with trained, pastoral care.
The children can access the association's support for as long as it helps them cope. The ongoing expansion and intensification of grief counseling methods requires support, which the Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation provides year-round. The foundation supports the association to enable this important work of providing direct assistance to children and young people.
