Susanne Scharch Speaker

Susanne Scharch is a key figure in the development of perpetrator support services for domestic violence in Middle Franconia. A qualified social worker, she has been working in offender rehabilitation since 2000 and has been with "RESPEKT! Fachstelle Mittelfranken – Täter*innenarbeit häusliche Gewalt" (RESPECT! Specialist Center Middle Franconia – Perpetrator Support for Domestic Violence) of Treffpunkt eV in Nuremberg since 2020. Following the ratification of the Istanbul Convention, she developed the concept for perpetrator support services in Middle Franconia, consistently implementing the standards of the Federal Association for Perpetrator Support in Domestic Violence (BAG TäHG). The Bavarian specialist centers are the only ones nationwide whose services are certified according to these standards. As a specialist in perpetrator support for domestic violence and a board member of the BAG TäHG, Susanne Scharch combines professional expertise with many years of practical experience. Her work is guided by a clear principle: violence is a decision for which the perpetrator alone bears responsibility. At the same time, she knows that behavior can change. However, this requires a framework with clear boundaries, a willingness to take responsibility, and timely action.„
