Looking back: DOCK 2020 – Days without worries

The third edition of "DOCK – Days Without Worries" took place in Hamburg from August 22nd to 23rd, 2020. The Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation invited people in need to spend time together without worries. The camper van parking area at StrandPauli served as a venue for positive encounters. There, people affected by existential concerns experienced support and appreciation. Over the two days, healthy meals for all ethnic groups, medical check-ups, and comprehensive hygiene services were offered, among other things. Approximately 200 volunteers, along with numerous supporting companies, associations, and institutions, ensured through their commitment that valuable assistance reached those in need directly and without bureaucracy.

Following two successful DOCK events in 2018 and 2019, each attracting more than 2,500 guests, the Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation extended the program this year by adding a second day. Doubling the duration addressed the high demand for support and also aimed to spread out the crowds, ensuring compliance with all hygiene measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Approximately 1,500 people took advantage of the extensive program on both days.
