The DOCK – Days without worries is back!

On the Pentecost weekend, May 23rd and 24th, 2026, we are finally bringing DOCK – Days Without Worries back to the Cruise Center Baakenhöft in Hamburg's HafenCity after a two-year hiatus. This will also be the last DOCK event at this location before the site is repurposed. With a new project team, over 100 volunteers, and numerous Hamburg initiatives, associations, and social organizations, we are once again putting together a huge program this year – for people who often struggle to access support and participate in society. DOCK is aimed particularly at homeless people, people with low incomes, refugees, pensioners living in poverty, and people in acute need.

Over two days, the site will be transformed into a place where help, support, and community converge. Our guests will find medical care, hygiene and personal care services, individual consultations, clothing, a street store in partnership with Hanseatic Help, veterinary care, quiet areas, and a diverse culinary selection. But DOCK is intentionally designed to be more than just a traditional aid center. We want to create a welcoming space. A place where people can stay without being turned away. A place to breathe, talk, eat, rest, and simply be free from worries for a few hours. That's precisely why we place great importance on the atmosphere: good food, open meeting spaces, music, interactive activities, and many small touches that demonstrate that it's not just about providing essential services, but also about dignity, compassion, and humanity.

Many guests tell us every year that DOCK is one of the most important and wonderful days of the year for them. And that's exactly why we do it. To make this possible, we're looking for more volunteers this year who would like to lend a hand over the Pentecost weekend and become part of DOCK.
