Queerphobia glossary

Queerphobia refers to the devaluation, exclusion, or discrimination of people whose sexual orientation or gender identity deviates from societal norms. This includes, for example, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, intersex, or non-binary people, as well as other individuals who identify as queer. Queerphobia can manifest itself in offensive language, discrimination, harassment, or violence. It can originate from individuals but can also be evident in societal structures or prejudices.
