The Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation invites you to DOCK2018 – A day without worries: A one-day event for people in difficult or vulnerable life situations. On May 20, 2018 She is expected in Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity a program that is tailored to their needs.
DOCK2018 is for people who have to start their day with worries. Anyone can quickly find themselves in this situation, and hardship can suddenly become a daily reality. It is our community's responsibility to come together and strengthen those among us for whom a difficult daily life is a reality. These are, for example, people who lack a roof over their heads, or people who need help with self-care or family meals. They are also people who miss social contact. Because every person matters, DOCK2018 opens its doors.
And these doors belong to the Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity: the building and location symbolize Hanseatic openness and serve as a hub for encounters. This is also the motivation behind DOCK2018: guests should arrive and find a place to stay for a day – to dock.
The program is therefore designed to meet individual needs: Donated items and games, as well as hygiene and personal care products, are available in the center's forecourt. Sufficient showers in private restrooms are also provided. Hanseatic Help e.V. offers support for those lacking seasonal clothing. Entertainment and delicious food are also available. The center's interior forms the heart of the gathering: Here, seating and a large buffet invite visitors to enjoy lively conversation, a good meal, or a short break. Deck chairs and views of the Elbe River adorn the waterfront area of the Cruise Center, creating a comfortable atmosphere for socializing.
With DOCK2018, the Karin and Walter Blüchert Memorial Foundation is realizing an event from a series of its own projects, which focus on the direct support of socially disadvantaged people as well as the sustainable improvement of charitable networks.
Since its founding in November 2016, the foundation has offered immediate and direct aid and support to individuals, but also supports institutions that in turn provide direct aid. Because every person counts.
